Guidelines for use:
To keep from overwriting previous work, save the template to your computer with a name that includes course, lesson, and student's name like this: 101_05_John_Smith.doc. If everyone would please use this same format it would be very helpful in processing the responses we receive.
Change the name at the top and bottom of the template to your name.
ALIGN="LEFT"There is a new little line right below the heading that has the course number and lesson number. Right after the course number and lesson number, please erase the "Xxxx StudentLastNameHere" and put the first and last name of the student.
Change "Date" to the current date.
Change all "Xxxx" to the first name of the student. Be sure to change all of them in the body of the letter as well as at the top.
Be sure to delete all teacher notes and unused alternatives (marked in brackets and all caps or with label "Teacher Notes:") The last thing we need is to come across as a form letter.
Do not feel like you have to answer it my way. On the last lesson there is a paragraph about logistics of signing up for a free book, getting a certificate, etc. Please leave these more or less intact, although some changes to match circumstances may be required.
Be careful with pronouns especially in the prayers, if you are writing to a woman.
If you are writing to someone on the outside, (we do have a few), be sure to notice and edit references to them being in jail or prison.
Please be sure to edit the prayers extensively to match the circumstances. In most cases it would probably be better to just delete them in start from scratch, but sometimes my mind is blank, and they give me a good start.
Please feel free to replace the scripture quotes at the end with your own favorites.
Feel free to copy these templates down to your computer and add your own usual alternatives, so you do not have to type them every time. When I get all my templates uploaded to the page, and have a little time, I intend to call on you for your templates and, if you are willing, incorporate them all into masters for us all.
Charlie, one of our teachers, had a great idea of putting headings on each answer to help the student identify what goes with what, but I have not had a chance to incorporate it yet.
Many of the templates have a little inspiring story or something we add to the end. Feel free to delete these, or replace them with something you prefer. Also, feel free to add pictures, poems, or inspirational stories to them if you have time or interest.
I will add more as I have time. Please let me know if you find any mistakes.
When you send it to us, please put the course, lesson and student's name in the subject line of your e-mail like this: "101 05 John Smith"
